Ü 6 MONTHS!! Ü

Fetal Development for week 24:

This is another big week for your magical growing baby! Just take a look at the checklist for this week: 1) ears: done; 2) fingernails: done; 3) (if you have a boy) testicles: taking their 3-4 day trip from the abdominal wall to the scrotum; and 4) lungs walls: secreting “surfactant”. What’s that? Well, surfactant is sort of what it sounds like: a surface-activated fat whose main purpose is to assist the your baby's little lungs during inflation (as in, filling with air, not getting more expensive). Just in case you’re curious, your submerged baby is still breathing in amniotic fluid, preparing and rehearsing the lungs an oxygen-filled life outside the womb. By the end of this week, your child will be weighing around 2 lbs and 14 inches long. Your cutie-patootie may even be a little more plump, but isn't anywhere near their full baby-fatted cute-self. Most of the “filling out” is coming up in that long awaited (and slightly dreaded?) third trimester. Woo-hoo! Get ready!

Whew! 6 Months behind me already. I can't say its felt like its flown by until I realize that I only have 16 more weeks to go. 4 months(or less) seems like forever but something tells me June/July will be here before I know it. I can't wait to get the carpet in and start ordering things and getting her room all set up!

Chris had oral surgery on Monday so while he is still in pain, it's a "better pain" than before. Whatever that means, pain is pain to me! But he's a silly boy so you know how that goes. I'm just glad he's taken care of so I don't have to watch him suffer anymore. I'm not sure who its harder on, him for going through it or me watching him and not being able to help.

Sorry this isn't more lively, I'm about to pass out at my desk! Hopefully I can be more upbeat on the next post. Have a great Thursday! Ü

Aw, you added a profile pic - even better, one that I took of you! I love that picture of you, absolutely gorgeous! :) I can't wait to get some belly shots!

SIX MONTHS! Wow, that has gone by fast..then again, I didn't even find out until you were 3 months pregnant either.

I bet you are way excited for carpet and getting her room put together, I would be too! When is the shower going to be anyway? I don't know what month they usually do them or anything.

I hope that Chris gets feeling better! I know exactly what you mean about how hard it is to watch him be in pain and know that there is absolutely nothing that you can do to make it go away. That's how I feel all the time when Karson gets his really bad heartburn!
